I'm Brian Wheatley. A professional creative with a background in advertising and design. Let me bring you my experience of over 18 years of filming and photography for both Weddings and Events.
Amazing Wedding Photography for Dudley and
Midlands Wedding Couples.
Having been filming fantastic Midlands weddings since 2006 I've worked with hundreds of brides and grooms. As well as alongside many wonderful Wedding Photographers in and around Dudley and Kidderminster in the West Midlands. So now I've decided to offer my creative skills as a Wedding Photographer, whilst continuing to provide a fantastic videography service as a cornerstone of my business. I'm offering beautiful photographic packages or combined photo and video coverage of your day.
So I’m a videographer you’ll be saying? Yes - but for many years I’ve also provided a photography service to the corporate industry. Offering photography to businesses, conferences and events, exhibitions, property and public relations photos. I'm also a Freelance Graphic Designer who has worked for over 30 years in the Advertising and Design industry. My background in advertising and design has created an ingrained sense of simply "Going above and beyond" and a very high level of customer service that communicates what both parties need to know and expect from the day’s shoot.
Wedding photography is a combination of environmental portrait, fashion, journalistic, interior, architectural and even food photography. So when looking for a professional wedding photographer in the West Midlands you need someone who can combine these skills. Think on their feet. And are flexible enough to cope with anything that is thrown at them on the day. This also includes the ability to capture natural and candid shots as well as craft and pose groups of people to show them in their best light.
So you’re in good hands if you choose me, with my years of experience working in the wedding industry that shines through in my wedding photography.
I'm also a party photographer where I can create videos and take perfect, fun and natural pictures of people enjoying themselves.

What's my style of Photography?
My background as a graphic designer, video producer and photographer is reflected in my style of wedding photography. At a wedding, I focus on people, details and moments of the day. I love to create beautiful images that capture the day's story in a creative, interactive-photojournalistic style. I love using natural light, flash and the local environment to capture couples and guests in relaxed ways that reflect the emotions of the day.
Lots of fun and natural candid photos would be taken. But also the traditional family shots that look great in an album or wall art.
Different people often require alternative posing techniques and there's an art to creating the perfect positioning of couples. The shape of the dress. The colours of the materials and flowers. How they blend or contrast with subtle skin tones, lighting and the natural surroundings. How the couple interacts with each other and reflects genuine emotions. It's not all just point-and-shoot with me. It’s about telling the story of your day in stunning images that bring those memories flooding back.
Drone Photography of your wedding venue included*.
*Subject to weather and flight permission.
Included in your photography package is the use of my sub 250g drone which allows me to take some dynamic overhead and aerial photos of not only you and your wedding reception venue, but also large groups of guests. Thus making it easier to see people’s faces within a large group photo. Adding a unique perspective to your wedding photography.
What do I cover?
My coverage for pure photography at a wedding could start with the bridal preparations. Relaxed, friendly and natural photography of you and your bridesmaids and family getting ready. With images of your wedding dress, perfume and jewellery as well as flowers and shoes. Great Wedding Photographers know how to arrange these items so they look stunning when photographed.
Let’s end the Bridal preparations with some amazing portrait shots of you in your beautiful dress holding your bouquet. What about some photos of you and your bridesmaids cracking open a bottle of champagne? And maybe a big reveal to loved ones on your last day of being a single person. Fun and romance are what a wedding day is all about. I create fantastic memories for you to cherish for years to come.
Moving on with the day I cover the arrivals at the church or wedding venue with relaxed group shots of close family and friends. Images of the groom with his best man and ushers in various poses would be captured. Maybe a close-up shot of the rings and button holes. Then meeting the bride as she arrives with her bridal party for photos before she walks down the aisle.
Awesome coverage of you getting hitched and then on to the Photo Call. A mixture of organised groups as well as candid relaxed portraits of people enjoying the big day. Then I take you away from the crowds of adoring family and friends for some intimate and romantic location imagery of the two of you. Looking for perfect light and locations for amazing and romantic portraits of both the bride and groom. I may even use my drone to get some dynamic overhead shots. Not many photographers offer this service because of the restrictions and laws regarding drone flying. But I am a qualified and licensed sub 250g drone operator. More information on drones can be found here on my corporate website.
Then I cover the wedding reception room with close-ups of the beautiful cake, table decorations and favours. Maybe a mock cake-cutting photo whilst you are being shown the room by the wedding planners. Then I'd be capturing special photos of guests as they enter the room to find their seats. Followed by the Bride and Groom making their big entrance.
Of course, your Photographer should capture the speeches, cake cutting, and the first dance. With wonderful photographs of the speeches with your guests listening and enjoying the amusing stories about the bride and groom.
If you have a specific itinerary for the day I could be flexible but this may mean I have to charge slightly differently for my time.
From start to finish I aim to provide you with stunning and emotional photography that you will simply adore.
What do you get?
At the moment I'm offering the final hi-res images on a USB drive within a styled box and on an online gallery. If you require a designed wedding album there will be a charge depending on the photo album that you choose.
You'd receive well over 400 photographs and upwards! You would also share the copyright to these great pictures to print off yourself.
Most images generally require some light editing or cropping even if that's applying a specific type of look that reflects the mood of that part of the day.
You can check out my reviews here. And why not visit my FAQ page here for more information?
Wedding photography is more than just capturing beautiful moments. It requires consistency in both words and actions. Meeting client expectations is important, but exceeding them with stunning images is the ultimate goal. Each time I pick up my camera, I expand my knowledge and experience and bring that expertise with me to my next shoot.
Pre-Wedding PhotoShoot Included
All my local Wedding Photography packages include a PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT.*
This would be held outdoors in your favourite park, country walk, or even at your future wedding venue. Maybe spend a casual hour around Dudley Priory or Himley Park posing for some natural or fun portraits. Here’s a link to some wonderful wedding venues in and around Dudley.
This way we can get to know each other and talk about my style of photography that would suit you for your wedding day story. All images will be supplied via an online gallery that you can download. What a great way to gain confidence in both being in front of a camera and my abilities as a photographer.
*NB This is only for wedding photography packages within a 50-mile radius of my home.
AMAZING LOCATIONS FOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS NEAR ME IN DUDLEY - WEST MIDLANDS
Himley Hall in Dudley.
Dudley has a rich heritage of being the heart of the Black Country. With some amazing historical sites such as Dudley Zoo and the Priory Ruins. Many of these buildings are still used today for hosting wedding day ceremonies or wedding receptions. Let's focus on a few of my favourites for the best photos and stunning videos.
Take the Priory Ruins near Dudley town centre. This is a fantastic place for a professional photographer to take couples for some group or intimate couple shots either on a pre-wedding shoot or on your wedding day. Especially as it’s right next to the Dudley Registry Office. A fabulous building that hosts many weddings throughout the year.
Himley Park is the home of Himley Hall, the principal home of Humble Ward who was the son of the jeweller to the court of King Charles I (yes – that guy who lost his head. So careless!). A photogenic Palladian Moated Manor House where you can get hitched and enjoy the rich history of the building and Himley Park grounds. It is a beautiful place for Photography and tells a wonderful story of its own history.
Looking for a secluded, intimate venue? Zoom in on Blakelands Country House. Located in Bobbington in the South Staffordshire countryside, this building dates back to 1722. Surrounded by walled gardens, paddocks, and orchards. It even has its own fishing lake. Ideal for fantastic photo shoots and I've filmed many weddings there over the years and know Paul the owner well.
Surrounding West Midlands areas such as Stourbridge, Sedgley and Kidderminster have a wealth of popular venues for couples to choose from.
As a wedding photographer, the elegance and grandeur of Hagley Hall in Worcestershire is truly a remarkable experience. This Georgian Palladian mansion, with its stunning architecture and beautifully landscaped parkland, provides an exquisite backdrop for any wedding. The historic charm of Hagley Hall, combined with its ornate interiors and expansive grounds, offers endless opportunities for creating breathtaking and timeless photographs. Each corner of the hall, from the grand staircase to the ornate staterooms, tells a story of elegance and sophistication, ensuring that every shot reflects the beauty and romance of your special day.
One of the highlights of photographing weddings at Hagley Hall is the variety of stunning settings available. The picturesque gardens, with their lush greenery and classical statues, are perfect for capturing intimate and candid moments. The grandeur of the Palladian architecture, both inside and out, adds a touch of regality to your wedding album. Whether it's a candid shot of the couple under the grand arches, a romantic moment by the lake, or a joyous celebration in the lavishly decorated reception hall, Hagley Hall offers a plethora of breathtaking scenes. As your wedding photographer, my goal is to ensure that every precious moment is beautifully captured, creating a timeless collection of memories that you'll cherish forever.
Also in Stourbridge, close to Kinver, is Dunsley Hall. As a wedding photographer, I am captivated by Dunsley Hall's timeless charm and picturesque setting. This beautiful country house offers an idyllic backdrop with its lush gardens, historic architecture, and intimate ambience. Each wedding at Dunsley Hall is a unique experience, and I am dedicated to preserving every precious moment through creative and personalized photography. Let me help you create a lasting collection of memories at one of Kinver's most enchanting wedding venues.
Hogarths Stone Manor in Kidderminster is an absolute delight. This stunning Tudor-style hotel offers a picturesque backdrop with its beautifully manicured gardens, elegant interiors, and timeless architecture. Each wedding here is a unique and magical experience, from the romantic outdoor ceremonies to the grand receptions in the stylish banqueting suites. The natural beauty and historic charm of Hogarths Stone Manor provide endless opportunities for breathtaking photos that you'll cherish forever. If you're planning your wedding at this exquisite venue, trust us to capture every moment of your special day in Kidderminster’s most enchanting setting.
So, if you’re getting married near me in Dudley, Kingswinford, Kinver, Wombourne, Stourbridge or Wolverhampton and are interested in having it photographed or filmed, give this Dudley Wedding Photographer and Videographer a call to discuss how I would cover your wonderful wedding day.

The term "photography" is derived from two Greek words: "photos," meaning light, and "graphé," meaning drawing or writing. Therefore, "photography" can be interpreted to mean "drawing with light" or "writing with light."
Contrapposto – an Italian term that means "counterpoise".
A pose in classical and Renaissance art, in which a standing person balances their weight on one leg, so their opposite hip rises on a diagonal axis to create a natural curvature.
