It started raining....oooooh....then the sun came out! – YEEEEAH! As the crowds gathered at Drayton Manor Park the cars were cueing up to get in but I was there in good time to go and meet Victoria in the Presidential Suite at Drayton Manor Hotel.
The day started for me by filming the bridal preparations and make-over sessions of Victoria, her bridesmaids and mum Patricia and her sister Helen.
I've filmed before at Drayton Manor so I knew the venue and it was easy for me to plan my day around the wedding locations at the Hotel. I was joined by the photographer Marc Osborne who took some great shots throughout the day and we chatted about things that wedding professionals chat about!
As Victoria and Ben were due to marry at 1.30pm on Saturday August 25th this meant that I had to be downstairs to greet Ben arriving an hour before. So after filming Victoria in her amazing wedding dress I exited and went to film the guests arriving. Ben arrived in a white Jaguar and was soon mingling with the excited guests.
At an opportune moment I went and filmed the wedding ceremony room. WOW! White star cloth! Nothing like star cloth to bring a room to life. (And it aids my cameras with extra light! Sneaky tip!).
The wedding ceremony went without a hitch and I videoed it with two cameras. Camera A with me and Camera B strategically placed for a wide angle shot. After the ceremony everybody went down to the Carousel Bar for refreshments. And to gather for the photo call with Marc Osborne.
By now the rain had stopped and the sun was out. After the main photos we jumped onto a golf buggy and was taken off to the main park for a photo session on the Merry-Go-Round and around the lake. Many people shouted congratulations to the happy couple as we slowly made our way through the crowds of people enjoying their day out at the theme park. Then it was back to the hotel to film the wedding breakfast room. And get some great close up shots of the cake and table layouts. Then the guests slowly filtered into the room to take their places for the wedding breakfast.
Ben and Victoria entered the room to loud applause and then the guests enjoyed their dinner before the speeches which I again videoed with two cameras.
Later into the evening the cake was cut and the couple went straight into the first dance around 8pm. This was again filmed with two cameras. Then the party began which I covered with a mixture of the two cameras to get some great creative footage as well some solid tripod shots.
Congratulations again to Victoria and Ben – it was a pleasure to meet you and video your wedding day!
